Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills


January 18, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. – Saturday, January 19, 2019 through 9:30 p.m.

Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. Along with Scoutmaster Specifics this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Scouts BSA Troops and Varsity Scout Teams, in order to be considered “trained”.

(Dining Hall, Bradshaw learning center)

Cost—$40.00 Includes meals and crackerbarrel (light snacks and fellowship)

What to bring—

Current BSA Health and Medical Form—Parts A and B

Boy Scout Handbook

Full BSA Class A Uniform and Class B/Utility Uniform

Eating kit—Knife , fork, spoon, plate, bowl and cup.

Clean up kit— Soap, toothpaste, tooth brush, Washcloth, towel, etc.
Personal extras—Folding chair/stool, watch, pen/pencil, paper or notebook.

Other essentials—Pocket knife, First Aid Kit, Rain Gear, Water bottle, Flashlight, Matches, Map and Compass, Tent, Ground Cloth, Sleeping Bag, and Sleeping pad.

We will of course provide a campsite for overnight camping with Camp Bradshaw as backup if the weather is extremely cold.
