District Banquet

Each year, scout leaders are recognized for their contribution to scouting. Our leaders banquet is the event where we honor all our leaders and give awards for their efforts. Please plan to attend this important District Event.


The Yellow Jacket District of the Chattahoochee Council of the Boy Scouts of America presents several awards at the annual Awards Banquet to honor the adult volunteers who contribute their time and efforts to make the scouting program a success in the district.

                                                The following Nominated Awards are considered on an annual basis:

Gallant Award

Is awarded to the adult volunteer who works tirelessly to ensure financial support of the district on an annual basis.  

Florence Patterson Guardian Angel Award

Is awarded to an individual who goes to extra ordinary measures to make scouting available to anyone who wants to join scouting.  

Cub Scouter of the Year

Is presented to a maximum of two adult volunteers who are adult leaders, Den Leaders, Cubmasters, or Committee members who demonstrated extra service efforts for Cub Scouts.  

Abe Tipton Award

Is awarded to an adult who has already received the District Award of Merit and has demonstrated a long lasting love for the Scouting program, the people and boys (at least ten-years)  

District Award of Merit

Is presented to a registered adult Scouter who has demonstrated noteworthy service of an outstanding nature, beyond the expectations of his/her scouting position.  

The following Specific Requirement Awards are recognized on an annual basis: 

Dave Edelson Award

Is awarded to those Scoutmasters who participated in all required training and activities, attended summer camp, and produced at least two Eagle Scouts while leading the same scout troop in a three-year period.
