Council Pinewood Derby
The pinewood derby is an event created for Cub Scouts and is one of the most popular and successful family activities in Cub Scouting. Pinewood derby cars are created from kits containing a pinewood block, plastic wheels and metal axles. Cub Scouts use to tools to customize the cars, with the help of an Adult.
Once completed, the cars are entered in races. Powered by gravity, the cars are run down a track. Most packs have a pinewood derby every year, which can be run indoors or outdoors. To participate in the Council Pinewood Derby you simply need to have an official pinewood derby car that meets the requirments for the derby and pre-regiser before the deadline. You do not have to have won a Den, Pack, or District Pinewood Derby.
The Council Pinewood Derby is designed to give Cub Scouts and their families an opportunity to compete agains Cub Scouts from other areas. The competition should build good sportsmenship.
You should read the rules prior to registering.
