Council Activities
Scouting for Food - The single larges service project conducted by the Chattahoochee Council in February. Units (Packs, Troops, Teams, and Crews) sign up to participate at Roundtable. Units are then assigned a designated neighborhood to distribute specialty made Scouting for Food bags. Bags are distributed on Saturday. The following Saturday units go back to their designated neighborhood to collected donated food. The food is then distributed to local food banks to help feed those in need.
Scout Expo - Provides an opportunity to raise awarness of Scouting. Packs, Troops, Crews, and Posts develop interactive booths based on Scout skills such as belt loops or merit badges. In addition non-Scouting booths are on hand that Scouts, Leaders, and Parents may find useful. Held the second Saturday in May at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center. This event is one of the largest gatherings of Scouts hosted by the council.
Shoot Sports Merit Badge Day - For Boy Scouts this event is offered at Camp Frank G. Lumpkin (FGL). Scouts attend for the day to work on Rifle, Shotgun, and Archery Merit Badges.
