The George H. Lanier District is committed to providing our Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venture units with the financial tools nessasary to establish long lasting and high quality programs for the youth members. Tips for financial sucsess:
1. Create a unit budget. This allows the leaders and parents to plan for the expected expiences of program delivery such as uniforms, rank or advancement patches, unit activities, District/ Council events, Summer Camp/ Day Camp and much more.
2. Sell Discount Cards! This Council fundraiser is the newest way for units to earn some funds!
3. Some units collect monthly dues. This practice allows for a slow steady inflow of funds into the unit budget and will help ease the purse strings of the scout parents. Also, collecting dues gives the boys a strong sence of ownership in the unit and can help them learn solid financial habits at an early age.
