Executive Board
Honorary and Advisory Board Members
Selected influential and highly regarded persons in the community who wish to advance the Scouting cause by providing their endorsement to Scouting activities or communications on behalf of the Scouting program. Honorary Board Members may have previously served on the Executive Board, have no active duties but are expected to promote Scouting values and make an appropriate annual Friends of Scouting gift.
Executive Board
Those selected persons who actively contribute in governing the Council activities by promoting the Scout values (Mission, Vision, Oath, and Law), attend scheduled board meetings, actively participate on a Council level committee, make an appropriate annual Friends of Scouting gift, and contribute to the Endowment fund by planning or becoming at least a James E. West fellow.
The Executive Board will request the Advisory Council to assist in resolving special problems or situations as deemed necessary for the benefit of the Council. Elected Executive Board members who miss more than two board meetings in one year will not be eligible for re-election.
Executive Committee members are expected to attend all meetings of the Executive Board and be accessible to the Council President and Scout Executive as needed to accomplish the work of the Council. In addition it is strongly recommended that they attend the National Annual Meeting of the Boy Scouts of America. The Executive Board meets every two months on odd numbered months on the third Thursday of the month.
Executive Committee
Those members of the Executive Board who have been elected to serve as the offi cers of the Chattahoochee Council, Inc. Including President, Commissioner, Treasurer, Vice Presidents, District Chairman of George H. Lanier District and Secretary
(non voting member, Scout Executive) The Executive committee may select one member to serve during the President’s
absence or inability to serve.
Executive Committee members are expected to attend all meetings of the Executive Committee and Executive Board and be accessible to the Council President and Scout Executive as needed to accomplish the work of the Council.
